How I'm paid

It costs you nothing. Here's how that works.

Before choosing a health insurance broker, it's reasonable to ask where their compensation comes from. Here's a clear explanation of how I get paid.

The short answer

You don't have to pay anything to use my services. Whether we're talking on the phone, reviewing different policies, completing your enrollment, or dealing with coverage questions afterward, I don't charge you a fee for that assistance.

If you decide to enroll in an insurance policy, the carrier compensates me. That's the standard compensation arrangement for health insurance brokers. If you look at your choices and decide against enrolling, I receive no payment, and you won't owe me anything either.

What that means for you

  • I won't send you an invoice. Working with me is free, whether you're still considering coverage or you've already completed enrollment.
  • There's no additional charge for my assistance. Your only premium payment is for the insurance plan itself, with no extra amount added for my services.
  • The insurance company receives your premium payments. Those payments aren't made to me personally.
  • A conversation with me doesn't obligate you to enroll. You're welcome to explore plans, ask whatever questions you have, and make your decision later, including deciding not to purchase anything.
