Who you'll talk to

One licensed person, start to finish

I'm Sam Jaber, and I own SJI Advisory. As a licensed health insurance broker in Tampa, Florida, I work directly with the people I help. When you contact me, I'm the person you'll speak with, whether you're asking your first question, getting enrolled, or looking for help with your coverage later. You won't have to explain everything again to someone at a call center.

Because I work with clients over the phone, being outside Tampa isn't a problem. You can reach a real person Monday through Friday, between 9am and 7pm Eastern. You won't have to deal with automated robocalls or unwanted spam calls.

I've helped over 500 clients understand their health insurance options and make decisions about their coverage.

Who I work with

  • Freelancers, 1099 contractors, and self-employed individuals who need to purchase health insurance for themselves.
  • Families looking for a health insurance plan that provides coverage for everyone in their household.
  • Owners of small businesses who need health insurance coverage for themselves as well as their employees.
  • Anyone approaching the end of employer insurance or COBRA coverage who needs to enroll before their eligibility window closes.
  • People with incomes above the subsidy limit who have to pay the full premium themselves.

If you recognize your situation in any of those descriptions, I'd suggest starting with the find-your-plan quiz to explore what may fit.

Where I'm licensed

I'm licensed to provide health insurance services in 36 states, with Florida serving as my home licensing state.

Check my license yourself

You can verify my licensing information rather than simply relying on what I tell you. My National Producer Number (NPN) is publicly listed. Use either my name or that number in your state's official license verification system.

These 7 states maintain separate license verification systems. You can search Florida's system using my NPN.

There are three verification resources because no single public database includes every state. You can use the state picker on the home page to find the correct system for yours.

How I'm paid

There's no charge for working with me. When you enroll in a plan, the insurance carrier pays my compensation, not you. I've explained the arrangement in more detail on my How I'm paid page.

Outside of work

Outside of insurance, I enjoy keeping active, going to the gym regularly, and spending time with the people close to me. I bring the same dedication and attention to my clients that I try to bring to everything else I do.

I write easy-to-follow health insurance guides for self-employed people at healthforselfemployed.com. If you'd like to understand the process behind the guides published here, you can review the editorial standards page for an explanation of how they're prepared.
